When Standard Won’t Fit. Deep Sideless Solves Tight Access Challenge

At The Acoustic Box, we understand that not every installation is straightforward. Some pool equipment locations have tight clearances, limited wall space, or structural obstructions — and that’s where our specialty enclosures shine.

Our Sideless and Deep Sideless Acoustic Boxes are purpose-designed for installations where space is at a premium and flexibility is key.

Meeting Complex Site Requirements
In a recent installation, our team was tasked with enclosing pool equipment installed along a wall and partially under a staircase. A standard box wouldn’t have worked — the lid needed to open under the stairs, and equipment was mounted to both the back wall and side wall, requiring extra clearance and support.

The Solution: Deep Sideless Configuration
We used our S100911 model, finished in Monument, measuring 1050mm wide x 900mm deep x 1145mm high. The Deep Sideless setup provided:

  • Side panel removal for clearance against the wall and staircase

  • Standard rear timber board for equipment mounting

  • Additional timber board on the side for extra components

  • Single gas strut lid lift with door stay on the sideless section for stability

  • Improved front and top access without obstruction

This clever configuration ensured full access to the equipment while respecting the space limitations of the site.

Why Go Sideless?
Sideless models are a great choice when:

  • You need to mount the enclosure flush against a wall

  • Pipes or other equipment limit how far the enclosure can protrude

  • You need flexible lid/door opening directions based on the site

  • There’s restricted vertical or lateral clearance (e.g. stairs, fencing, or tight corners)

The Deep Sideless variant extends this flexibility by pushing the box slightly forward, allowing for additional clearance or routing behind the unit — perfect when wall-mounted pipework is involved.
