Choosing the right Acoustic Box enclosure starts with understanding how each configuration works and where it’s best suited. Whether you’re working with limited space, wall-mounted equipment, or open plan pool equipment you’re keen to conceal, the Acoustic Box range offers three core enclosure types designed to deliver effective noise reduction, compliance and a clean finish.
The Freestanding, Backless, and Deep Backless Acoustic Box enclosures are all built using the same high-quality modular panel system, with variations in depth and rear configuration to suit different site conditions. Each option is designed to reduce pool equipment noise by up to 80%, protect equipment from the elements, and provide easy access for servicing and maintenance.

Free Standing
Freestanding Acoustic Box enclosures are ideal for pool equipment located in open or exposed areas where there is no wall, fence or structure to mount against. Designed as a fully enclosed solution, they provide effective noise control, weather protection and a clean, standalone finish for open-plan pool equipment layouts.
A free standing pool pump & filter enclosure includes a rear panel with wooden insert to mount equipment, providing a fully enclosed structure on all sides.
Best suited for situations where there is ample space behind the equipment and something to mount, ensuring full protection and sound insulation.
Backless
Backless pool pump & filter enclosures utilise two wall strips to connect the pool pump and filter enclosure to the wall, with a horizontal bridge attached to the top of the wall strips to ensure the system is fully enclosed. These wall strips are to be attached to the wall, with three locations available along the height.
Additional Depth Note: Backless pool pump & filter enclosures add 50mm to the depth of the Free Standing model
Designed for scenarios where the equipment is located within 50mm of a wall. The absence of a rear panel allows the box to fit against the wall, providing flexibility for equipment, pipes, and electrical connections to be positioned on the wall inside the pool pump and filter enclosure.
The Difference between Backless & Deep Backless
A Backless enclosure removes the rear panel and uses a 50 wall strip between the side panel and wall. This allows the enclosure to sit closer to a wall or fence while still providing acoustic control and access.
A Deep Backless enclosure uses a deeper 150mm wall strip, increasing the overall depth of the enclosure while remaining open at the back. This option is ideal where equipment needs extra clearance or where wall-mounted components need to sit comfortably within the enclosure footprint.
The image below shows how the extra 100mm for the Deep Backless wall strip can be cut to fit the down pipes or other vertical objects through and still give the lid the 50mm clearance required to open.
Deep Backless
Uses 150mm wall strips to mount the enclosure to the wall. This creates enough space for the lid to open fully, even when obstructions like conduits, water pipes, or downpipes are present.
