Custom L-Shape Solution for a Tight Poolside Fit

This recent installation in Sydney, NSW is a perfect example of how the Acoustic Box system can be customised to deliver both compliance and practicality — without compromising on aesthetics.

In this project, the installation area was close to the pool edge. The need to meet the 900mm minimum clearance requirement while maximising space for the equipment led to this very cool outcome.

A custom L-shaped enclosure combining a backless and sideless double-box configuration was the ideal solution. At 1310mm high, both units sat flush beneath the glass portion of the alfresco nib wall. The left side was 1150mm deep x 770mm wide with the right side 600mm deep x 1350mm wide. The enclosures were joined through the centre with a custom channel to accommodate the different depth dimensions on each side.

Surfmist was chosen as the colour to match in perfectly with the home’s exterior. A single gas strut and door stay was included on the sideless section to provide additional support and easy access for maintenance

This L-shaped design allowed the installer to make full use of the limited space while ensuring all equipment was enclosed and compliant with council requirements.

So, for example; if you can utilise a standard height and width, then we would only need to customise the depth, fabricating only the side and lid panels; thus reducing the additional cost of customisation.
