Deep Sideless Install in Dune
This recent install in North Bondi, NSW is a great example of how the Acoustic Box works best when it’s considered early in the build or landscaping process.
In this case, the enclosure was installed while the decking contractors were on site, completing the surrounding steps to the pool equipment and outdoor shower. That coordination allowed the Acoustic Box to be integrated cleanly into the finished layout, rather than added later as a standalone element. The result is a far more seamless finish.
Given the wall-mounted pool equipment and drainage pipes were already in place plus decking plans needed wraparound steps to the outdoor shower, a deep sideless unit, 1100mm wide (+ deep sideless) by 1350mm deep and 1800mm tall was selected. A Dune colourway complemented the surrounding decking and home colour, helping the enclosure visually blend rather than stand out.
Because the Acoustic Box is integrated into the deck and alongside the steps, the sideless enclosure still has front access, allowing easy servicing without interfering with foot traffic or the flow through the area.
One of the key requirements for this project was height. This is given the steps down and level change on the property. Existing wall-mounted equipment meant a 1800mm high enclosure was needed to fully conceal and protect the setup. Finally, for a seamless finish alongside the home, cutouts were needed at the top for pipework.
Projects like this highlight the benefit of planning Acoustic Box installations alongside other trades. When the enclosure is installed during decking or landscaping works, it becomes part of the overall design, not an add-on. The end result is a cleaner finish, easier access for servicing, and a quieter, more visually refined pool area that works seamlessly with the surrounding outdoor space.
